SUMMARY:Learning to Receive
DESCRIPTION:What’s this about? \nThe whole point behind Toronto Joy is coming together to serve\, our time\, our energy\, our presence. But what about receiving? At times I’ve found it hard to receive. \nSometimes\, when someone gives a compliment or offers to help\, something in me still tenses up. I remember one period after being away for a long stretch\, I wasn’t working. Someone offered to pay for something\, and I still wanted to pay myself. I thought letting someone else pay said something bad about me. That was the first time I noticed this pattern in myself so clearly. \nI don’t think I’m the only one who’s felt that. So this week\, we’re bringing it to the group. \nWhat you’ll walk away with: \n\nA better sense of how you personally react to a compliment\, help\, or kindness\nWhy rejecting small kindness can quietly train us to reject bigger things too\nWhy receiving isn’t weakness\, it’s what makes giving sustainable\nA real conversation with others who’ve felt this too\n\nThis is for you if:\nWhether you’re usually the one giving\, or the one on the receiving end\, this is a nice conversation to be part of.

SUMMARY:How to Transform Your Relationships\, Even When the Other Person Doesn't Change.
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a session with guest speaker Radhika “Rad” Lakhani\, JD\, LLM. \nIt’s not religious\, but it does have some spiritual elements based on her practice\, including a guided chakra meditation. Please see the outline below. If it resonates\, we would love to have you join us. \nFor more than 20 years\, Rad has worked with conflict and relationships through family law\, mediation\, children’s advocacy\, dispute resolution\, and education. She has spent thousands of hours supporting individuals and families through some of the hardest moments of their lives. \nAlong the way\, her own life led her inward\, into spirituality\, meditation\, and healing. She began to see that conflicts in our relationships often connect to what’s happening inside us: our fears\, patterns\, beliefs\, and disconnection from ourselves. \nIn 2022 she stepped away from traditional litigation. Today\, as a divorce lawyer turned consciousness coach\, she brings together practical conflict-resolution experience with spiritual wisdom. \nWhat Rad will bring to our session: \n💞 How to bring our highest selves to our relationships\, with partners\, children\, family\, exes and beyond\, through personal transformation\, conscious communication\, presence\, and learning to respond rather than react. \n🌱 Insights from her own transformative\, soul-led journey\, and how it changed the way she sees relationships and conflict. \n✨ How changing ourselves and the way we show up can transform our relationships\, even when the other person doesn’t change. \n🧘 A live chakra-based meditation to realign your energy and reconnect with yourself. \n💬 An open Q&A with Rad to close. \nLearn more about her work: https://www.consciousnesswithrad.com/ \nHope to see you there! It will be a beautiful session 💛
